- SIDNEY — William J. "Bill" Douglas, 57, of Sidney went home on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at 2:17 p.m. at Wilson Health after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was born on March 2, 1958, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Loretta (Brooks) Douglas of Sidney and the late Joe Douglas.
On January 24, 1976, he married Brenda Bollinger, who survives and will miss him greatly along with two daughters, Jennifer Douglas and Angelia (Josh) Turner, both of Sidney; four grandsons, Tyler, Dustin and Austin Turner, and Ian Freeman Jr.; sister, Kathy (Donald) O'Quinn, of Sidney; three brothers, Ronald (Elaine) Douglas, of Tennessee, Mike Elmore, of Fort Loramie, and David Elmore, of Sidney; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elmer and Beverly Allen, of Sidney, Randy and Barbie Clark, of Cardington, Pete and Verda Bollinger, of Sidney, Jeremiah Bollinger, of Cleveland, Albert and Mandy Bollinger, of Delaware, Ohio, and Dave McMaster, of Piqua, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Trish McMaster.
Douglas retired from BF Goodrich in 2012 as a machinist. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1976 to 1978.
Bill spent his summers at Lake Erie and his winters at Panama City. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, and loved spending time with his grandsons and family. He will be leaving a lot of fishing buddies behind. He also loved his Old English Sheepdogs, Trixie, Scottie, Roxie, Izzy and Mickey.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with Rev. Joe F. Pumphrey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
